Fall for Reds Part 3

See these kosher wines for the holidays.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we would like to focus on one of our favorite types of red...a nice, reliable, California Cabernet Sauvignon. Turkey and sweets will pair perfectly with a Cab. Below are 3 very reasonably priced Cabernets that we recently enjoyed. They are affordable, but taste great and are perfect for a holiday dinner party. They also make great gifts. Cheers and have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

THE NAKED GRAPE
Cabernet Sauvignon
2011
California
Approximate price: under $10
Alcohol: 13%
Aroma: Blackberry and Dark Fruits, with hints mocha
Taste: Full bodied...traces of plum, strawberry, blueberry and chocolate
Pairings and thoughts: An unoaked, young Cabernet, let it sit and breathe for a bit, then enjoy with turkey, chicken, cheddar cheese, or chocolate.

KENDALL-JACKSON VINTNER'S RESERVE
Cabernet Sauvignon
2010
Sonoma County, California
Approximate price: under $20
Alcohol: 13.5%
Aroma: Dark berries, Cherries and Cassis
Taste: Rich flavors of blackberry, vanilla and a hint of mocha
Pairings and thoughts: A terrific Cab with a long finish; pairs well with turkey, steak, chicken, rich pasta dishes, cheddar cheese, and chocolate.

ROBERT MONDAVI PRIVATE SELECTION
Cabernet Sauvignon 88% (5% Syrah, 3% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc)
2010
Central Coast, California
Approximate price: under $10 for regular bottle or under $20 for large bottle
Alcohol: 13.5%
Aroma: Tart fruit flavors with notes of blackberry and green pepper
Taste: Plum flavors with traces of cherry and oak
Pairings and thoughts: Our favorite of the bunch, no wonder...it's actually a blend! Smooth finish, pairs well with turkey, steak, burgers, chicken, pasta, cheddar cheese, and of course, chocolate. ❤❤

The End.
